“Everything is Practice”

A BRAND, A LIFESTYLE, A TEAM CALLED…..

picture-21

The infamous PIE N CHIPS F.C, so where it all began….. pie and chips you hear.. the giggles , the smirks.. “what”, “who”,  “you cant name your team that” . Heard it all before.

Well it all began in the summer of 2006,  a jobless summer of football, outrageous drinking (literally spent my redundancy in 2 months on beer) and meeting what has come to be a great bunch of folk i now call team mates. Through the natural up`s and downs on an international cup….. the laughter, the tears , the chants, cheers and heart break a natural bond is formed. Soon to arise after the Ronaldo and Rooney drama had dropped we all re-grouped and to cut it short pie and chips were established.

After a positive first season into a small league in Brooklyn we grew in stature and confidence. A nice feeling of the team to “fear” the team to “beat”. Reminiscing in my head hearing my grandad in the past quoting the lines from the likes of Don Revie and Billy Bremner when his team (Leeds utd) were the bullies of the game .. a team that relished upon this… with this said and my love, passion and admiration of Leeds united i decided the pies were to follow suit. Not a direct look alike or take on Leeds in the 70`s but a secret DNA.. an inner meaning to the choice of colour… the ball in the badge, font choice and layout. All from the era, all influenced by the “damned united”.

pie-mood2

To show this i created a small mood board, referencing above and other attributes. From the ye old English grub where our name comes from to font and colour reference. All perfectly placed to create the new 2009 PIE N CHIPS F.C badge… GLORY GLORY PNC.f.C!

NIKE “V” IS FOR VICTORY

10_03_2009_0454063001236637376_rankin

Over a brew i stumbled across this little number… The letter V as a symbol of the Nike campaign, entitled “V is for Victory.” Featured athletes, like the Ivorian Didier Drogba and  joe cole, Rafael Nadal among others. A sign drawn on the chest and covered with dust for some ocher, dressed in a jacket to others. Check the images and vid below…

After numerous debates over the new shirt at England’s win over Slovakia on sat, after id watched the documentary and had knowledge of what had actually gone in the the process of this shirt,  i was now in a position where i cud win one of these beauty’s! I went on the site, RSVP pronto and foot tapped anctiously  all the way through the day till 6 o’clock.

Got there, wasn’t too busy and my mate Seany Mac had been there since the 4 o’clock opening, (free Carlsberg let me add) hence he was a bit worse for wear and was chin wagging the hell out of some poor photographer on my arrival. Soon after debs turned up and before you knew it the raffle was being drawn. I still foot tapping i sat staring at my “lucky” ticket hearing 5 or 6 random numbers and then realizing there were 2 more to go.. long story short debs won and i didn’t. 1 number away! Gahh!

CONFID3NTIAL IN THE SNOW!

snow1Ok so if you didn’t know we at Confid3ntial are die hard Leeds united fans, As well as our lil Fixie escapades we play Football, yes that’s Soccer to you non conformers. We play regularly on week nights and weekends down at Pier 40 in lower Manhattan with other friends ( I might name drop for the first time… Conal, Russ, Rolo, Karma, Chunk, leeds nik, woody and a few of the lads from Your Vegas, Jonny and Coyle) though the year and up until last year had a team in a league in Brooklyn called Pie N Chips F.C, who knew!

snow3

snow5Well last night was a little bit different, a life experience if I must say. Strolling up to the pitch (field) i see Coyle with a snow shovel (the pic above is not a shovel, its a goal upside down trying to clear the snow more efficiently.. clearly did not work) attempting to clear what was once a field, no chance.. I almost turned around, after all the fukker was near 3″ thick of fresh, soft, fluffy white snow, after a lil jog around id warmed up and we all decided to do the unforgettable..

snow28 on 8, in the snow like beach football at -2, woke up as stiff as a wankers hanky but i honestly loved it.. lets avit! I had to post, I know its a little off from what Confid3tial normally do. Check the pics!

SHOVE IT UP YER ARSE!

brazil_vs_argentina-1

A cheeky little war popped up within the advertising world during the world cup i believe. The top image was an attack by an Argentinean condom company showing what they were threatening to do to brazil before the match. The bottom image was a response after Brazil ended up winning the game comfortably 3-1 and came back with a very tongue in “cheek” response, now that’s advertising warfare!

EVERY HOLES A GOAL!

football

Looking at this your gonna score at least once during the night, but it comes down to persission and aiming on this occasion. I love this whole new way to get your potential customer  creativly interacting with your message, its a great example of well executed campaigne. It’s obviously not going to suit every type of product, but for a “macho type” sports event it’s going to get its message across in a very memorable way. However, I wouldn’t suggest you put it in a busy location, because challenge games could go on for a while. (though I guess most are playing with limited resources) But you know what boys and there toys can be like, it’s all about ego, and no ones going to want to quit on this one, dont even question the  off sides or on the line cameras!
